Great read. While I appreciate the visibility of Chicago's numerous above-ground stations, it makes for a brutal experience in the winter months, and not much better in the peak of summer (not to mention the highway median stations). Toronto does a much better job of providing shelter at its outdoor stations, and its sub-surface connectivity to surrounding buildings, especially the PATH network, is enviable (much better than Chicago's Pedway).

I might need to make for a wildcard edition that covers hard to categorize things like the Path and Bikeshare.

I do agree re outdoor stations, Toronto's outdoor stations are basically all 100% enclosed, so its lower cost but without leaving you out in the wind and snow like in Chicago!

Why do you think that the Scarborough extension should not have used a single-bore tunnel?

Single bore typically is higher risk and needs to be deeper, deeper is more expensive!

What’s is your opinion on a Jane Street Rapid Transit Line in any form, influenced from Transit City?

Another North to South Line west of the Spadina subway, and can hit Line 2, 5, 6 and possibly even Line 4 if they want to extend past Sheppard West & 512 St. Clair past Gunns Loop. Was thinking on how Ontario Line eases congestion on Eastern side of Toronto. How would western Toronto fare, if any extensions of other lines. Like Line 1 more into Vaughan to Wonderland/Cortelucci Hospital, Line 2 & 5 more into Mississauga.

There is RapidTO coming to Jane Street, but would it be sufficient. Also would add like 15.2km of track from Pioneer Village to Jane to the 70.1km current and 63.3km building track system length.

I don't really think Jane needs rapid transit, maybe BRT on it (a little more than RapidTO) and Dufferin but the Spadina subway line still has quite a bit of capacity and the Barrie Line will only add to that! Sure in the long term it would make sense, but I still think I'd probably choose Dufferin much of the way!
